Brett Purvis is a board certified physician associate who brings 20 years of experience in orthopedics and sports medicine to OneCore Health. He is a native of Belle Plaine, KS but has been in Edmond/OKC since 2008. Brett’s training and experience have taken him all across the country. Originally with a background as a certified athletic trainer, he graduated with a BS from Southwest Missouri State University and an MSEd from the University of Miami. As an athletic trainer, he was fortunate to work extensively with athletes in all levels of athletics including the NCAA, NFL, and US Olympic teams.
Brett then went on to complete PA school at Missouri State University (MPAS) and completed fellowship training in knee and shoulder sports medicine at The Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, CO. He has served as a guest lecturer in both the OU and OCU Physician Associate programs teaching orthopedic examination and orthopedic radiology. Brett has also assisted in the care of OU, OSU and Northwestern Oklahoma State athletic teams. He was named the State of Oklahoma Physician Associate of the Year in 2018.
Brett has recently transitioned to full-time clinical orthopedics and will be available daily for orthopedic office consultations for acute injuries and chronic joint pain. Clinical capabilities at OneCore Orthopedics will include joint injections, ordering of X-ray/MRI, physical therapy referrals, casting/bracing, and direct referral for surgical consultations.
Brett and his wife enjoy travelling, great concerts, and spending time at their farm in NW Arkansas when they are not visiting their daughter in law school or watching their son play college football!
